KEEPING GOOD COMPANY

As Christians it is especially important that we are victorious over our sins. This is not so hard to accomplish as most folks believe. First, we need to understand our Father God knows we will never be as righteous as His Son is. Next, we need to understand our Father does expect His children, ‘US’ to go about living righteously, giving it our best shot. When we strive hard to live righteously, we must admit that we sin and none of us are righteous in the first place. See> (Romans 3:23) 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; … See> (Romans 3:10)10 As it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; … Believing we do not sin, because we think what God considers 'sin', is not sin at all. But rather only a way of everyday living. Therefore, if we believe we are not sinning we are only deceiving those around us as well as ourselves. See> (1 John 1:8) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

My Final thoughts
A sure way to be victorious over sin, is for us to avoid hanging out with unbelievers in the first place. It is a fact that everyday Christians need to intertwine with unbelievers either at work, school, play and in some cases marriage. But that does not mean Christians need to remain among the unrighteous evildoers, of which they have absolutely nothing in common. See> (2 Corinthians 6:15) 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? … When Christians hangout with unrighteous people, they leave themselves open to temptations that are of the world rather than of God. Therefore, Christians need to hang out with other Christians, who will encourage them and keep their minds focused on the love of God as they participate in doing righteous activities together. See> (Hebrews 10:24) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: … God’s word tells us to seek comfort from our brothers and sisters in Christ. He tells us this, so we receive the strength and comfort that we find in each other.

Let us pray
Dear Lord, we come to you this morning asking you to help us stay in good company. With you we know we will make it through each day, living lifestyles that glorify our Father God. With you among all our brothers and sisters, we know that we will always be in good company. For with you Lord, there is no evil. In your name Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

May we all walk under our Lord and Savior's guidance. Rev James Erick
