*PREMONITIONS*
I do not know about other folks, but our Father in Heaven talks to me all the time. I did not know this most of my life because I never cared to listen to him. It was after church one sabbath our pastor talked with a few of us about how important it is for God’s children to pray to their Father in Heaven often. ‘Why preacher?’ Because that is the only way for us to communicate with our Father God. And that prayer will keep our minds alert to him which allows The Holy Spirit to communicate to us through our thoughts. And in some cases his children can hear his soft whispery voice telling them to stop, or slow down, or take something moment by moment. Through my own experiences when I listened to his voice or a thought he gave to me, it turned out to be a premonition from him. Of course, anything that comes from God is Good. See> (James 1:17). 7 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. … Therefore, the premonition received from our Father God was beneficial to me. As well as for another person we told, because the said premonition involved them. However! When I just kept on doing what I was doing, taking no heed to the said thought or voice, something bad happened or felt wrong to me. Therefore folks, I have arrived at the conclusion that these thoughts or that soft whispery voice comes from our Father God. My final thoughts
I have often thought my premonitions were a gift from God, like when God’s Holy Spirit gave Paul a premonition that there would be trouble coming when he got to Jerusalem. See> (Acts 20:22-23) 22 22 And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: 23 Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me. … Those two scriptures give me the assurance that I am a child of God, because I am led by the Spirit of God. See> (Romans 8:14 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. … Having this assurance gives me the faith to proceed with caution after I have received a premonition, which has enabled me to complete the task I had to do. See> (Acts 20:24) 24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
Let us pray together
Dear Father God. We thank you for helping us as we strive to live our lives honoring your will and plan for us. We know sometimes we receive an apprehension from you because you have our best interests in mind. Please help those of us who do not hear your voice, or recognize an apprehension that comes from you. To be open minded on you, as a child of yours should be. And Father please help us keep our mind set centered on you, so we can receive any form of communication from you. In your Son’s name Jesus Christ, we pray amen.
