A LITTLE GOD WITH ME TIME
I noticed Linda John’s was not her normal self at her desk this morning. She stared into space as if her mind were focused elsewhere. She had been this way before, and I remember management warning her not to come to work that way again. The lunch bell rang so I decided to ask Linda how she has been. During the short walk to her desk I asked the Lord to guide my thoughts and direct my words. “Hi Linda, how are you feeling this morning?” ‘Oh, Hi Rev, my day has been rough since I woke up. To be honest I need a little comfort, a little God with me time.’ I left Linda shortly after knowing she would be in the good hands of Jesus and thanked him for always looking out for us and being with us.
My Final Thoughts
As it turned out God did not need me that time because Linda knew to reach out for his comfort. But it felt good that Jesus and I were ready and prepared to help her reach out if need be, amen. All Linda needed was a little comfort that morning, and because she sought after our Lord’s comfort, the rest of her day went by with ease. See>(2 Thessalonians 2:16-17) 16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. … So, my friends, on those days when things are a bit off, let us not forget to pray and receive the comfort of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is always there for us; we just need to seek him. Amen.
Let us pray together
Lord, help us to remember to seek your joy and comfort when we need them, rather than just try to get through the day. Help us remember that you are our hope, our joy, and our happiness, when we call on you. In your name Jesus Christ, we pray amen.
