SAM AND SAMMY

Sam was raised a catholic. He knew Jesus Christ was God’s son, but that is pretty much all Sam grew up knowing about God. Those who knew Sam can vouch, that he grew up raising hell and only cared about himself. One weekend Saint Patrick’s church held a bizarre event to raise funds for the homeless shelter. Sam volunteered to operate the dart throwing booth, with the intent and hope of meeting a few women. But Sam met only one woman whose name is Sammy Barclay, who was trying to win a stuffed bunny for her friend's daughter. After a few words, Sam felt drawn to Sammy and asked her to join him for dinner. Over the next few weeks, they began to dig each other. Because they worked different shifts their time together was often short. Sam missed Sammy’s company on Sundays and Wednesday evenings. So, when Sammy asked him to accompany her for church one Sunday, he decided to go. That decision would end up changing Sam's life forever. You see folks, it was the first time Sam heard who God and his Son Jesus Christ truly are. This fascinated him rather than bore him, as the preacher preached with excitement reading The Gospel of Christ. After service Sammy noticed Sam’s enthusiasm was still very real so she invited him to a Wednesday Bible study class which just happened to be studying The Gospel of Christ. Sam told Sammy how little
he had known about God and how He would like to keep going with her to learn more about who The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit are. After a few weeks Sam desired Jesus to be part of his life, but he felt he was not worthy of God’s glory, and that he felt God would not accept him because of the life he led. Sammy explained How God will accept his lost people as they come to him, because he loves them and wants to be their Father God. See> (John 6:37) All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.… And that all his people have sinned and are not worthy of his grace See> (Romans 3:23) 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; … ‘So. my sins will not prevent me from knowing God, Sam asked?’ ‘Yes, they will, Sammy answered, if you do not confess your sins to Jesus Christ.’

My Final thoughts
Our Father's word tells us if we confess our sins to his Son Jesus Christ, we will forgive us and cleanse us from unrighteousness. See> 1 John 1:9) 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ... Therefore, our Father God will be merciful to us and will not remember our unrighteousness. See> (Hebrews 8:12)12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. … ‘Sam told Sammy he understood that Jesus Christ is his Lord and Savior and wanted to accept Jesus into his life. The next Wednesday night bible study, Sam gave his life to Christ because he finally understood who Jesus and his Father God are, and what they were all about. Sammy and Sam got married one year later, and together with their Lord Jesus and their Father God, they operate a homeless shelter. Sam’s new group of friends know him to be a loving person who cares for others more than himself, Amen. Folks, the moral of this story is that no one should believe they are not good enough for God. God wants all of his people to know him as their Father in Heaven, and has no concern about who they are or were, before they received his son Jesus Christ’s forgiveness.

Let us all pray together
Most gracious and loving Father in Heaven, we thank you for your mercy and grace. We ask that you help us to help folks like Sam who do not know about you, receive the knowledge they need to know who you are, and what you and your son are all about. In Jesus Christ's name we pray amen.

May we all walk under our Lord and Savior's Guidance
