NEVER GIVE UP

Ron's father came home from the hospital after a major stroke, a new man. The change was so dramatic that Ron was lost in his thoughts. Ron and his wife Lori had been praying for his father over the past ten years to accept Jesus Christ for who He is, 'The Son of God and the Savior of souls.' See> (Romans 10:9-10)9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Ron had always had faith that his father could become a soft-hearted, easy-going man who would care about others more than himself, rather than the man who had left the house in an ambulance near death only three weeks before. This is a man who was rough with a nasty spirit of hate and self-righteousness. A man whose main objective in life was to look out for number one, himself. During those ten years every time Ron would talk to his father about Christ being the only way for him to go to Heaven, his father always told him God would never accept him. You see folks. Ron's father lived a cold-hearted lifestyle and believed the sins he'd committed could and would never be forgiven. When Ron told him that Jesus will forgive anyone who comes asking for forgiveness with a sincere heart, He would forgive them without question or care about who they are or what sin's they've committed. But during every conversation his father would walk away. See> (Romans 10:13)13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Whenever Ron had a chance, he told his father that God loves him so much, He sent His Son Jesus Christ down from Heaven to die for him even though he was a sinner. He told his father that everything Christ had done for man He did for all of mankind, because Christ's love for mankind was overwhelming. See> (Romans 5:8-9)8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

My final thoughts
During the three weeks Ron's father was recovering in the hospital, he spent hours dwelling over all the conversations he’d shared with his son about Jesus Christ being the Savior for mankind. But it wasn't until the hospital's Reverend had visited him several times talking about receiving Salvation through Jesus Christ, that he began to put God's plan for mankind's salvation all together in his mind. Then during one of the Reverend's visits, Ron's father broke down and asked Christ into his life as his Lord and Savior. We should never give up on folks when it comes to their souls' everlasting destiny. When we pray for them, we must pray with conviction, knowing that God will respond when the time is right. Ron and his wife never gave up and their dedication changed his father from the cold-hearted, self-righteous man into a warm-hearted loving man of God.

Our Morning Prayer
Lord, sometimes our prayers for our family members or friends overwhelm us, especially as we watch them continue living their sinful lifestyle. Help us stay strong and never give up on them, instead help us continue sharing the knowledge we've received from God's word to them. Then one day all in God's timing we know they will accept You into their lives as their Lord and Savior. In your name we pray amen.

May we all walk under our Lord and Savior's guidance
