GIVE GOD HIS CHANCE

Jesse's body laid on the living-room carpet passed out and near death with a syringe still stuck in his purple vein when the paramedics arrived. His seven-year-old daughter sat next to him praying on the phone with a Christian 911 dispatcher. It was not God’s will for Jesse to die that day, so he answered Jesse's daughter's prayer and saved her father.  During the next three months Jesse committed himself to a Christian live-in to get the right drug rehab center for men, where Jesse learned about God and gave his life to Christ. Now Jesse knows all he’s ever needed is faith in God’s ability to help him rid his addictions. Jesse was tired of living his life for his lifelong drug addiction and unrighteous desires for sex. Therefore, after hearing the preacher talk about how God helps his people, he finally understood that he needed to call on God for help if he were ever to beat the devil's drugs, and his personal addiction to sex. See> (Jeremiah 33:3)3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. That was the verse God chose to touch Jessie's heart that day, telling him his only hope of total sobriety is through Jesus Christ. So, he emptied his heart out to Jesus in prayer asking him to help rid his drug addiction. See> Psalm 55:22)22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Jesse's Prayer
Lord, I love you and I need your help. I know you are the only one that I can trust and who I have faith in to help me rid my addiction. So Lord, I am asking you for this mighty act in cleansing my body from these drugs. Today, I want to live my life with you and for you, rather than living my life serving my additions. Therefore, today Lord, I give my addictions to you, trusting in faith and knowing you’ll never allow me to be overtaken by the devil’s temptations ever again. In your name Lord, Jesus Christ, I pray amen.
See> Psalm 55:22)22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

My final thoughts
As God’s people, we all have an opportunity to give our Father God in Heaven’s plan for us a chance. It does not matter what burdens us, or what kind of character we are, or how many sins we’ve committed or how harsh they were.  The only thing that matters is whether we give God a chance to help us live right for him. After all folks, if it was not for God, none of us would have received life.

See> (1 Corinthians 10:13)13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Our Morning Prayer
Father God, this morning we pray for those who may suffer from any form of addiction that is tearing them apart. We pray for one of us or an angel to come into their lives and tell them about your plan for their lives. That they may become a family member of ours through Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray amen.

May we all walk under our Lord and Savior's guidance.
