KNOW WHO GOD IS
When a person wants to have a personal relationship with their Lord Jesus Christ, the knowledge they gain by getting to know Jesus Christ is more important than everything known to man. A person must give of themselves and rid themselves of many things in order to win Christ. See(Philippians 3:8).8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
It don't take much time for the person to realize everything they'd given up in order live with Christ, everything they valued was worth nothing compared to the value they now have, because Jesus Christ lives inside their hearts. God is happy and pleased with the person because His Son Jesus Christ is active in their lives.
I know, all this sounds too good to be true doesn't it?
Well, It's not too good to be true.
God is good and good is God. The problem for many of us is our lack of ability to make and keep a commitment to Jesus, of spending time with our Lord to get to know who He is, and grow a personal relationship with Christ. Folks if we don't commit our hearts, our strength, and spending time with Jesus learning who He is. we'll never have a personal relationship with our Lord.
We need make sure, we need to set a goal to 'MAKE' and spend time with Jesus, and we need to make that goal our top priority every day of our lives. This way as we get to know God He'll teach us His ways, and lead us, show us how to stay on the right path. See(Psalm 25:4) 4 Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.
My final thoughts
Goals
1 Stay close to God so we'll become great friends.
2 Wholeheartedly seek God in our daily activities.
3 Make God number one in our lives.
Remember, we are the only ones to blame if we never truly know who God is. God is always around us. He never leaves, He's just waiting around for us to reach out and learn who He is. It's up to us to give God the time of day.
Prayer
Lord, You know our weakness lies within our selfishness to spend our time with you. Please help our selfish hearts find the time to get to know who you are. This way we can discover our desire to get to know who you are, and our personal relationship with you will become a reality in our lives. In your name Jesus Christ we pray amen.
