THE HOLY SPIRIT'S POWER WITHIN
Our Father God sent His Son down to us not only to sacrifice His life for us, thus paying for the sins of man through His sacrificed blood which is unstained from the sin of man. But also, Jesus did this so, that one day every man or woman who sought forgiveness of their sins would have eternal life and reign with Him in Heaven forever. Which through our Lord's sacrificed pure blood could cleanse us from our sin, But that's not this morning’s topic.
In this morning’s topic we're going to glimpse through only a few of the many things God required His Son to accomplish before He would need to sacrifice his life for us. God gave His Holy Spirit to His Son Jesus Christ putting it upon Him, anointing Him the ability to preach the gospel to the poor and the broken. Jesus Christ was a man with no home, a man with no place to rest His head See> (John 9:58) 58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
I'm guessing our Lord during the time of His ministry, didn't always have everything He needed. But the Holy Spirit burning inside Him fed and provided Him what He needed. Jesus stepped out into this evil world, and with every step He took began preaching and helping the brokenhearted, healing and raising folks from the dead. Jesus made the lame able to walk and made the blind folks able to see. See> (Luke 4:18-19)18. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Today God gives us, His Children the same power through His Holy Spirit that He gave His Son Jesus Christ. This enables us to live just like His Son lived by giving us the ability to do all these things our Lord did, but here’s the catch, if we choose to.
My final thoughts God also gave us the free will to serve and honor Him, or not to honor or serve Him. Leaving each person to individually decide if they will actively live a lifestyle that's honors their Father God's will for them to do, by stepping out into the world as a Christian who represents God's love and righteousness. In other words, folks, I'm saying its past time for Christians to become Christians who actively live a lifestyle that's honoring our Father God's will for them. To live serving Him in the manner God has given them.
Let us all have a moment in prayer together. Lord, our prayer this morning is all about thanking You for all that You’ve done and are currently still doing for mankind’s sake. Your love has overflowed us, and we desire to honor Your Father's will in the same manner You were able, Through the power of The Holy Spirit. We thank You for helping us and we know we can’t live a life for You our Lord Jesus Christ if we didn’t have Your spirit living in us. Thank You Lord, please continue to guide and direct our journey as we strive to live our life for You Lord. In Your Name Jesus Christ we all do pray, amen.
