DON’T LET THE DEVIL HANG AROUND
A father talks to his son Mark about how to keep the devil away.
"Son if you don’t let the devil hang around, you don't allow a place for the devil to attack you. See> (Ephesians 4:27) 27 Neither give place to the devil.
So, the devil won't be hanging around. Therefore, by keeping the devil away he's not able to play in your yard, which prevents him from attacking you". ‘Why can’t he attack me daddy?’
"Like I said son, because you don't let the devil come around you". ‘But how can I stop him?’ "You stop him by telling him to go away son, you can do that because when you were 10 years old and asked Jesus to come into your life, you began to do little things to Help God. That’s called serving God and it is our Father God’s will for His children to serve Him." ‘Yeah I remember Dad said Mark.' "Do you remember how you kept wanting to quit serving God because your friends at school picked on you? Then I told you that you needed to put God before your own feelings by submitting yourself to God, so you did? We’ll it’s because you submitted yourself to God and your still honoring God’s will, by helping set up chairs and things for church services, that your able to resist the devil by telling the him to leave you. As soon as you do that son, that means old devil has no other choice but to leave you alone because you are God’s child, which gives you God’s power and authority over Satan. See> (James 4:7) 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
'But how am I God’s son daddy?
It all began when there was nothing but endless space, and God decided to create all things, and then He created man, but how can God do that?'
"Well you see son; God is a Spirit." ‘What's a spirit daddy?' "A spirit is an invisible being who can do wondrous and miraculous things." See> (Colossians 1:15) 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
'Wow dad, God is the first creature of all creatures. That means God’s a super God, because without God none of us could exist don’t it?' "He sure is son, amen."
My Final Thoughts
Don't you all wish it was as simple as it sounds in this story? What if I told you all that it is, would you believe me? Well it is folks, but it requires the commitment that Mark made. First, a person needs to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and become an active Child of God. Which means they try to live a new and righteous lifestyle that pleases God, as they honor God’s will by serving Him and doing good works for their fellow man. Then because of their obedience, trust, and faith in God's Son Jesus, they become God's children and receive God's power and authority over all evil Spirit's, such as the devil, amen. See > (John 1:12) 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Let’s pray together.
God, we thank You for your gift of salvation which we received through Your Son Jesus Christ. We thank You for giving us Your power of The Holy Spirit, which gives us authority over Satan and his demons. We ask You to guide those of us who have yet to receive Your precious gift of salvation through Your Son Jesus Christ, and desire to put You first in their lives. To submit to all their being, to honor Your will for them, and become Your children. In Jesus Christ's name we all do pray, amen.
