JUST A THOUGHT
STAND OR FALL

Years ago I read a book by Dennis Waitley, PhD titled Seeds of Greatness. It was an excellent book and one I credit as having changed my personal philosophy and altering the course of my life.
What Dr. Waitley expressed between those book covers was at the time – at least for me – revolutionary. He related a saying he had heard – If you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything – and that resonated within me.
That expression penned on the pages of his literary effort hit me right between the eyes and shook me to my very core. Suddenly I was confronted with a great truth that I had not known before.
If I did not stand for something – I’d fall for anything and folks I did not wish to fall for anything. I was compelled to face my actions on a far greater scale and to view my position in life and on various subjects in light of the end result.
Today in our Nation we see a general malaise where people are not quick to take a stand unless it infringes them personally. Americans no longer seen willing to corporately stand up for the morals and values our Nation was established upon.
As a result we have fallen for anything. Government tells us that they will end poverty, protect us from pharmacological manufacturers, clean our water and save us from everything from crime to the extinction of a snail.
And we fell for it; lock – stock – and barrel. Those in government tell us how qualified they are, they have great degrees and mounds of experience, yet over the past decades we have only gone deeper into the rabbit hole.
Americans use to stand up and demand their government do what they wanted, but today the opposite is true. Even private corporations have begun an onslaught into our lives. The other evening when I shut my laptop down, it said I couldn’t because there was an update needed.
Now it did not ask me if I wanted the update – no it just started downloading the update and I had to wait until it was done before the system could be shut off. Now that flies in the face of being free in my mind.
We need to stand up. Our way of life, our liberty and freedom wane before us. If we do not stand up – we will fall and what we fall for will not be the American dream. WE THE PEOPLE means what is says - WE ARE IN CHARGE, WE RUN THE SHOW AND THE PRESIDENT, CONGRESS AND EVERY OTHER FORM OF GOVERNMENT WORKS FOR US.
