Edip Yuksel is a Muslim author & adjunct philosophy professor at Pima Community College, Tucson, Arizona.
In 1986, Yuskel supposedly had a change of heart, & today is an exponent of the modern Islamic reform movement.

The title of his book is: Manifesto for Islamic Reform. His main argument is merely his view of Islam. Yuksel still asserts that the Quran is the only source for understanding Islam. He disparages Muslims who quote the
hadiths or sunnah or sira. But his argument is detached from history.

And it still requires a view of the Quran as being fully sufficient for all matters; spiritual & social Yuskel pretends that all the ideals of Western democracy & a just society are provided for in the Quran.

As per Manifesto for Islamic Reform, the backward, repressive, misogynist & superstitious aspects found in Muslim societies are distortions of Islam that were imported from non-Muslim sources: either pre-Islamic Arabia, Jewish, Christian, or secular sources.
