Today, President Donald Trump will speak about vaccine development from the Rose Garden at the White House. On Thursday, the president announced that U.S. Army General Gustave Perna, a former pharmaceutical executive, will be in charge of the Administration’s program, named Operation Warp Speed, that is fast-tracking COVID-19 vaccines.

President Trump also stated that U.S. military will be preparing to disburse the vaccines. “We’re mobilizing our military and other forces, but we’re mobilizing our military on the basis that we do have a vaccine.” The president continued, “You know, it’s a massive job to give this vaccine. Our military is now being mobilized so at the end of the year we’re going to be able to give it to a lot of people very, very rapidly.”
