President Donald Trump will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new Director of National Intelligence, John Ratcliffe.

The president first nominated Ratcliffe, formerly congressman for Texas’ 4th district, in July of last year. Representative Ratcliffe withdrew his name the following month due to concerns voiced by some in the Senate. In February of this year, President Trump again announced Ratcliffe as his nominee for this position. The Senate confirmed him in a close vote last week.

The Director of National Intelligence (DNI) is a Cabinet-level position that was created by the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004. The DNI heads a seventeen member U.S. Intelligence Community, directs and oversees the National Intelligence Program, and advises the president, National Security Council, and Homeland Security Council, as needed.

AS THE LORD LEADS, PRAY WITH US…

For President Trump as he continues to work on the security of the U.S..
For Director Ratcliffe as he undertakes his new role in National Intelligence.
For the Senate as they consider the president’s nominees for various federal positions.
