According to CNN’s ‘developing story’ one of the design bugs of the Boeing 777 is that it will tend to lose altitude when the fuel tanks run dry.
This is just one more example of the crack investigative reporting by major media.
PS I understand that CNN is working on a follow up story that will be a real ‘block-buster’ report. Apparently they’ve discovered that ALL airplanes suffer from this major design flaw……..once they run out of fuel, they tend to lose altitude!
