Governors, including you Mr Pritzker, need to know that your closing of the people’s states is a blunder of monumental proportions! All of you have contributed to the demise of the greatest economy of all time. The economy that Trump built! Here are the facts:
1) Sweden, with a population of 10.152 million has had only 611 deaths. They did not shelter or quarantine. It was business as usual! Their death percentage rate is rounded off to ZERO!
2) Chicago had 413 total deaths from all causes in March. Only 11 were attributed to coronavirus, while 24 were from homicides. The population of Chicago is 8.86 million. Yes, statisticians that is a lot less people than Sweden! Nonetheless, the death percentage rate from coronavirus is also ZERO in Chitown! By comparison, Chicago has 117 homicides so far this year. 585 Chicago citizens have been shot, to date.
3) Illinois has a population of 12.66 million. 8.86 of the aforementioned total is the Chicago/Metro Area. Including Chicago, the total coronavirus death total to date is 307. Once again, the death percentage rate against the total population is ZERO!
4) Illinois has not closed Home Depot, Costco, Jewel, Sam’s, Etc. We are all out and about despite your ill advised edict. We are all touching shopping carts and the like. Too many of us to count have contracted the virus and have recovered on our own without becoming a part of the master head count.
In short, all influenzas are nasty and can be deadly to those in higher risk categories. Dr. Faucci’s ominous and frightening predictions are now almost comical had they not lead to the loss of 10 million jobs. Illinois was broke before you closed down the store. It will only get worse unless you do the right thing and rescind all of your previous actions. If you want to take credit for Illinois only having 307 deaths...go ahead. Whatever it takes to let Trump and the rest of us get back to work, I’m in favor of it. 2020 is no different than all the other virus years, except it’s not as bad as most. WebMD says that we lose 56,000 every year to influenzas. We are 40,000 plus below the average! Next time, don’t close my state on predictive guesswork!
