The documentary "Death of a Nation" is now playing in select theaters nationwide. The film draws parallels between the dramatic fracturing of the nation over Abraham Lincoln's presidency and the presidency of Donald Trump.

The Republican Party was founded in the Northern states in 1854 by anti-slavery activists. They first came to power in the elections of 1860 when it won control of both houses of Congress and its candidate, Abraham Lincoln, was elected President by a narrow margin. At once the enraged Democrats targeted Lincoln. They smeared him. They seceded from the union. They went to war to defeat him. In the end, they assassinated him.

Today, the Democrats have targeted President Trump and his supporters. How will it all end?
