Read the commandments (all 10 of them, as SPECIFICALLY stated in Exodus 20.) What are we as a nation doing to distance ourselves from our creator? Also note: Most, when confronted with the truth, that many "Christian" practices of today originated among the pagans of Babylon, Egypt, Assyria, Greece, and Rome, just say, "I know they're pagan, but we do them to honor God." What did God say about that? Deu 12:29 When the LORD thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land; Deu 12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Deu 12:31 Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. Deu 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. Old Testament? Yes, but how about from the apostle John, whom Jesus loved, putting the capstone on the New Testament: Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Rev 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Rev 22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. We must all examine ourselves, whether we be in the faith. 2Corinthians 13:5. Our national predicament is a SPIRITUAL issue, not just a political issue.

  Terri Rolan I do not possess enough hubris to believe that I should "change the world" - nor am I foolish enough to believe that I could. I do believe that I must do the best I can, with whatever gifts, talents, and abilities with which I have been blessed, to live by the Golden Rule. I also believe that the US Constitution and its Bill of Rights apply to all its citizens....freedom is not "safe," dear ones - it is always a risk - but, to my mind, it is well worth the gamble.... as long as one weighs facts and accepts the potential consequences of one's actions. Unfortunately, we are facing too many conflicting "facts" in this current climate of uncertainty, and too many "experts" whose interpretations of these "facts" swing as violently as a leaf in a windstorm. I fear for my beloved country.... and all of us who are trying to make some kind of "sense" of the present chaos.
