Ingredients
1 cup Sugar in the Raw or plain white sugar 1/2 tea spoon ground cloves
1 tea spoon cinnamon 2 to 3 oz's Lemon juice
1 cup all-purpose flour 1 pound or 4 cups chopped Rhubarb
2 pints or 4 cups chopped Strawberries 2 pie doughs for 9 inch pies
1/2 stick butter or margarine cut into pats 1 egg yoke beaten
1/4 cup Brown Sugar or plain white sugar
Directions
1 pre-heat oven 400 degrees
2 in large bowl mix flour and 1 cup sugar with spices till mixed , let stand in Frig for 1 hour , pour lemon juice on and remix
3 pour filling into pie crust and level off , dot with pats of butter or spread thin layer of mararine over filling , put top crust on and seal edges
4 apply egg yoke to top crust using a pastry brush and then sprinkle with Sugar [ brown or white] cut long or short slits in top crust
5 bake @ 400 on middle rack [ put cookie sheet below it because it wiil flow over] for 35 to 45 minutes with 40 minutes as the sweet spot
NOTE / the pie is much better when you use the raw and brown sugars instead of the white sugar , but if thats all you have its still comes out delicious less
