DISCIPLINE

Just like children don’t like to be disciplined by their father’s, a lot of Christians don’t like to be disciplined by our Father God. Personally, when God disciplined me, I use to be offended and I wasn’t willing to let it go either. Sometimes I wanted revenge so I would act out against my Father God in spite, even when I knew He was right to discipline me. Today I accept my God’s discipline because I understand God disciplines me because He’s my Father and is correcting me, because I’m his son.

Our Lord disciplines us because He loves us and is teaching us to live more righteous. Therefore, we need to accept our Lord's discipline rather than despise or resent it. When we do it allows our faith to grow stronger, and our relationship with our Father will grow as we draw closer to Him. See> (Proverbs 3:11-12) 11 My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction:12 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth

My final thoughts

Only good results come after our Lord disciplines us. As God’s children we need to be disciplined because we learn how God needs us to live. This is very important for Christians because how we live reflects who we are. Since we are God’s children, God must be glorified in our lives, this way we reflect God’s righteousness in our new lives so that unbelievers see God’s righteousness in His Children. Our actions and personal conduct need to reflect holiness for our Lord whom called us is holy. See> (1 Peter 1:15-16) 15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Let us pray together

Dear Lord, we ask for you to help us accept the discipline God gives us, knowing our faith will grow stronger from it. We ask you to help us live our lives as witnesses for God, so our Father God is glorified in our actions. In your name Jesus Christ we all do pray, amen

(James 1:2-4) 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
