ENTHUSIASM

On my daughter Candy’s 10th birthday her mother gave her an art set, because Candace who we always call Candy was fascinated about drawing and paintings. Candy was so excited; she began drawing right away. Her work was amazing, and she loved drawing. After a few days I noticed she was slacking off and spending more time doing whatever daughters do at that age. Around two months later I asked Candy why she didn't draw anymore. 'Candy hadn't drawn for over two weeks.' She told me she loved drawing, but it doesn't interest her anymore. I didn't go any further with the subject because I trusted our Father God to handle my daughter's direction in life. In high school Candy took an art class for the sole purpose of earning necessary credits. But as Candy studied art, she found that old spark she'd once had and her enthusiasm to draw and learn more, became a priority in her life. A few years later Candy graduated College, majoring in art. Today she teaches art at her old high school, encouraging students to follow their dreams.

When we first became a Christian, do you remember how excited and enthusiastic we were? How much we wanted to receive the knowledge God provided us through His word? We were enthusiastic because our minds were focused on learning how to stay on the path that God’s saints travel. See> (proverbs 2:8) 8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

So, what happens when Christians begin to lose interest in studying God's word, like when my daughter lost her enthusiasm in drawing? I know this happens because it happened to me, and if we’re honest with ourselves, I'm positive every one of us have gone through this chapter in our lives. Christians must do everything in their power to prevent this from happening to them because when or if it does, we’ll stop feeding our faith. Our faith will no longer be able to grow, it will lose its strength because we’ll lose our interest in reading our Father God’s book that He’s filled with His wisdom. The same wisdom that feeds our faith, our knowledge, and our understanding of our Father God’s laws and His will for us. See> (proverbs 2:6) 6For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

My final thoughts.
All of this can and most likely will happen to us if we lose our desire and enthusiasm for living our lives as Christ lived His. As a result, our faith will become hungry for God’s word and then become weak, because it lacks the wisdom God’s word provides. This is something every Christian must avoid, and it’s not as hard as one may think. Here’s one way I've found to ensure our enthusiasm to live as Christians will never leave our hearts. We must maintain a steady desire to keep our Father God active in our lives. We need to make our Father God first in our lives, then we’ll learn to depend on Him. Once we depend on God, we’ll look forward to, and remain enthusiastic of how God has amazingly taken control about every situation good or bad and makes things right. Our trust in God will also grow as we’ll see His work is always good. Then once we’ve made God a vital part of our everyday living, we will see ourselves living better and more righteous lifestyles as we become more like our Lord Jesus Christ every day, amen.

Let us all pray
Dear Lord. Please help us maintain lifestyles that please our God, we ask for your help Lord, because we know that we’ll be unable to do so without your guidance and influence in our lives. We come to you this morning because with you maintaining active in our lives, we know we’ll never lose our enthusiasm to keep learning and growing our faith and trust in our Father God. We all do pray in your name Jesus Christ, amen.

See> (Ephesians 6:5-7) 5Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; 6Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; 7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
