GETTING CLOSER TO GOD

One of the most bothersome conversions from my old self to my new life with Christ was the lack of trust in Jesus to guide my life. It wasn't until I reached adolescence a few friends told me all I had to do was trust Jesus through my faith in God. So, I did, and God heard me because His Son Jesus knew me. See> (James 1:6) 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. … I was amazed how much God could love and understand my adolescent heart. I mean, I’ve been trying to understand it my whole life. A short time later I noticed a couple of friends had given our friend Jesus authority over their lives. And a result, their personal relationships between them and Jesus grew. That’s when my heart got jealous, wanting my relationship with God to increase as well. So, I followed my hearts desire to know Jesus in a more personal and intimate way. So, I began talking to Jesus in the morning as I got ready for school and had conversations while on the school bus that sent goosebumps running up, my arms. Almost instantly my relationship between Jesus, my Father God and I increased astronomically. See> (John 14:23)23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

My Final thought
This increased my trust in God during a time in my life that proved to be most crucial in developing my personal relationship with my Father God. And believe me when I tell you good folks. I wouldn't be the man I am today if I hadn’t been able to trust God enough to know in my heart he’ll keep His promise to be with me, always be watching over me, looking down from my future home up in Heaven. Amen

Let us pray together
Lord Jesus, this morning we ask nothing from you but our daily needs. We know those of us haven’t quite reached a personal relationship with you. So, we come to you today asking you to use us to help them grow in you, all we need from you Lord is to send them to us. Then with your help and guidance we just might get them to know you more intimately and accept you into their lives. In your name Jesus Christ we all do pray, amen.
