WAIT UPON THE LORD

It appeared obvious to members of the congregation, their pastor had taken on too much at the same time. He had been blessed with the support of God’s children who volunteer to help their Pastor Cline make all the loose ends meet. Then one morning their Pastor hadn’t been in the office. This being an abnormal incident, a few men immediately went to their pastors’ home where they found him lying on the kitchen floor. The next day at the hospital they were told Mr. Cline had suffered a minor stroke and needed some rest. But on that evening God told the hospital Clergy to go visit Pastor Cline, who the clergy knew well from church. Once the clergy walked into his long-time friend pastor Cline’s room, he made it a point to move on quickly with the subject matter God placed in his heart. So, he began the conversation saying, “Pastor Cline’s, I say, hum, I say we’ve been here before Mr.! I told you then to “STOP” doing too much. You have preached for years telling folks who labor to go to Jesus and receive the rest they need. See> (Matthew 11:28) 28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. … I remember doing as God told you to preach on that day pastor, and when it was all said and done sir. I had personally witnessed The Holy Spirit’s Promises of peace and rest, if we went to Him with the sincerity of our love for Him. Pastor Cline that day was so beautiful. I remember how relaxed and peaceful my heart felt as I waited upon my Lord. Soon my strength was replenished, and I was ready to walk strongly with my Lord. See> (Isaiah 40:31) 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

My Final thoughts
Folks, we know we need to wait upon our Lord more often than we do. Allow me to be the first to announce publicly, I’m not perfect and find myself trying to do more than I can rather than taking a time out alone in prayer. Even Jesus needed time off, remember when Jesus felt overwhelmed, so he took a walk as a way to prevent stress and the feeling of being overwhelmed. See> (Mark 1:35) 35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. … It’s hard to explain how refreshed and energized we feel once we’ve done this. It’s just something those of us who have not will need to experience this for ourselves, and hopefully soon, amen.

LET US PRAY
Lord, please help us to seek after the rest and peace that can only be achieved when we come to you. Put in our hearts the desire to rest with you. Lord we know we need to, but we need your help to do it. In your name Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
