THE COMFORT OF GOD

Jesus tells us to seek COMFORT with Him. See> (John 14:25-27) 25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. … Jesus tells us to trust and stay focused on Him. See> (Isaiah 26:3) 3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. 4Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: ...There are times we feel hassled and overwhelmed about something that's come our way, or we expect the worst to happen over a situation of which we have no control. When we come face to face with scenarios such as these, we need to stay focused on our Lord, knowing His face shines upon us. We should be thankful in knowing that our Lord is with us and He brings us peace. see> (Numbers 6:25-26) 25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: 26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Jesus wants us to seek the comfort and peace He has to offer us, which are only two of the many gifts He's able to offer. This is because He died a sinner’s death to ensure we all can receive these gifts that are so precious. When we do not call upon Him, I am sure it pains His heart. Jesus needs us to trust in Him and know that He is God. We should lift Him up by accepting who He is and know that His name will be lifted up/exalted on earth. see> (Psalm 46:10)10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

My Final thoughts,
Often, we do not always call upon Jesus to give us comfort. For one reason or another, we feel we can take care of whatever we are facing by ourselves. We could not be more wrong. As Christians we need to take Jesus at His word and know that with Him, we will receive comfort and peace. If this were not the case, Jesus would not have promised this to us. Amen.

Let us all pray together
Dear Lord, please help us to seek the comfort only you can give us as you desire for us to do. For with you we will be at ease and relaxed. In your name Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

May we all walk under our Lord and Savior's guidance. Rev James Erick
