*WHOLEHEARTEDLY*

(Colossians 3:23-24) 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

These two verses were literally what kept old man Sam’s heart pumping at the young age of seventy, with the burning desire to help people that needed help and truly desired to help themselves. There was no playing with old man Sam, because the old man never played. Now on his seventieth birthday Old man Sam’s announcement would soon have a positive impact for the towns homeless people, living in the towns tent cities under bridges and railroads. Sam had envisioned a massive increase in the tent cities populations. He focused on the towns homeless who had been living under the interstate bridge. Sam’s young heart rent for the town’s homeless families. So at the age of seventeen, he opened a savings account determined to save enough money to one day help folks that needed help. During those years Sam would ask his Father in Heaven what his plan was to help the town's homelessness. And every time it felt odd when his Father God did not answer him. Every year Sam saved money for God’s plan, because he loved people and treasured the value and self-worth of every human being. Whether you were white, black, red, brown, or yellow. Sam knew God had a purpose for all of us. He's created us and left it up to each of us to seek Him in their own way. Over Sam’s entire life His heart remained dedicated to Jesus Christ as he strived to live his Christian lifestyle. Sam never married or had children even though he loved people so much. Sam had seen many wondrous changes take place during his lifetime, but the homelessness never changed. Sam was never a wealthy man as one may believe, since He had worked for the railroad his whole life. But somehow, he’d been blessed with the ability to deposit 10% of his income into his savings account, just as he promised his Father in Heaven he would. There was no way Sam would break his pact with God, even though God still has not told him what to do or how to do it.

My final thoughts
One-night Sam had a vision, and in his vision, he saw a mansion. He saw families coming and going, and now it was clear to him what he had to do. Sam knew exactly how he would help the homeless families. This filled Sam’s old heart with joy. For it was his life’s ambition and pleasure to help folk. Not just because He loved folks, but because people were the treasures of his heart. And now everything he had always hoped and lived for would soon come to light. The next morning, Sam went to the bank and paid cash for the farmhouse and property that he would soon be constructing into a live-in homeless and rehabilitation program center, called God's Homeless Ministries. Sam was a very blessed man whose heart loved Christ and all of God’s people, whose heart never quit giving weekly during a lifetime of uncertainty of what would become of his sacrifice.

Let us pray together ...
Dear Lord, help us to help others even when we are not aware of your plan to help them. Let us be led by our faith in that you will use whatever we have to offer others for their benefit. Lord let our sacrifices no matter how big or small be a blessing to those for whom you intended. In your name Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

May we all walk under our Lord and Savior's Guidance
