DON'T DWELL OVER YOUR FORGIVEN SINS

See>(Hebrews 8:12) 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

It was late that Sunday evening. The service was rather long and I was pretty tired. I was closing the chapel doors when I saw Mr Bud Franklin humbled near the Chapel entry. I asked Bud if he was alright. He said he was, but he needed to talk about his sins interfering with His new walk with Christ. “Mr Franklin had only recently given his life to Our Lord” I told him that whatever sins he had committed were in the past, and he needed to forget them knowing that God has already forgiven him and forgotten his past sins. See>(Hebrews 8:12) 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Mr Franklin asked me to hear him out because it was overwhelmed him. I told him I would listen, so we went inside and sat near the altar and Bud began to tell me his testimony.

"Pastor. the sins I've committed have left scars on many people. Some of them I didn't even know, yet they felt the pain caused by my sins. I felt there was no hope for me, no hope for my soul, because the sins I had committed hurt so many of God's children. I never used to do church pastor, in fact I used to be quite an atheist. I used to rise up against God's words and I mocked anyone who followed such beliefs. I lived this way until last year when I learned about God's truth and I repented asking for forgiveness. But because of all my past sin, I often doubted God would accept me, and I felt I could never serve Him. I was not a normal atheist, pastor. I intentionally encouraged God's children away from God, completely twisting their minds against God's goodness.

Pastor up until the service tonight I honestly thought My sins were stopping me from having a relationship with God. But after you preached about how Christians must forgive themselves over their past sins, knowing that God has already forgotten them, I knew I was made worthy to serve God. See>(Isaiah 38:17)17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

My final thoughts
There are a lot of folks that have caught up feeling so guilty that we felt useless to God. Like Mr Bud Franklin all they need to do is forgive themselves and forget all sins of the past, knowing God has already blotted out their iniquities and has redeemed them. See>(Isaiah 44: 22) 22. I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

Prayer
Lord we thank you for forgiving us and wiping out our past transgressions. We ask for You to help those who may be struggling with their guilt, and help them understand their past sins are exactly that, “their past sins. They do not affect their walk with You Lord. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
