EDDIE SNOW DIDN'T UNDERSTAND
One day Eddie didn’t have a plan in the world, as far as he was concerned, he had no more tomorrows. He had his gun, his mindset was selfishness, he was lonely with a heart so broken, despair couldn't describe it. So, Eddie got in his truck to leave his life full of failures and disappointments.
Recently Satan has been attacking Eddie in full force. He knew about Eddie's thoughts of suicide, and without Christ the Savior to protect him, the Devil could attack him without a sweat. Satan began by telling Eddie to take the easy way out and Join me, I'll give you all the things you've ever dreamed about and many things you've never dreamed of having. Come to me Eddie, you know your gun is loaded. After a while Eddie's mind was giving in to Satan. How simple it would be if he took Satan's easy way out. He had no one or any reason to live with his failures. He took his gun with him in the truck and headed to the lake with his mind set to kill himself.
Eddie never made it to the lake because his truck broke down. Now sitting on the side of the road he realized that he failed again which pushed him over the edge. He grabbed his gun, pointed it at his heart and pulled the trigger ready to die. 'Click, Click'. Eddie failed himself again.
He held his gun up once more and held it to his heart for a moment. Now ready to pull the trigger, someone knocked on the window while telling Eddie don't do this. He rolled down the window and asked the stranger who do you think you are stranger? You know nothing about who this loser, x drug addict, Mr. Amount to nothing has been is. You don’t even know me. Eddie put the gun back on his chest and told the stranger he had no reason to live.
That’s when the stranger stared into Eddie's eyes telling him. “Eddie, I know who you are, and I know what your purpose is while you’re on earth." “Then tell me Stranger Eddie said, if you know me then tell me what I have that I can offer God that's good enough for God to accept me? I'm a thirty-year recovering drug addict. I don't really know who God is, and I've never felt what love is. 'Mr. Eddie said,' I have nothing for God to want me for, I have nothing to offer Him. My life was blanketed with poverty and has been nothing but one failure after another."
The stranger told Eddie, “You have what God has given you that you may offer Him. That being your life Eddie, and if or when you offer yourself to God, He will send His Holy Spirit to live within you. They will bear witness that you are God's Child. Then the world will know you are of God." See> (Romans 8:16)16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
The stranger told Eddie God loves him, that God loves everyone. In fact God loves us so much that he sent his Son down to us. See> (John 3:16) 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life
The last thing the stranger told Eddie was that his Father God wants him to be His son, a child of God. And it is His will for your family to succeed and prosper and honor His will. And if he did this God would also turn your failures into success. This is the reason God needs us to live keeping his statutes, obey His commandments so that you may prosper. See> (1 King 2:3)3 And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:
My Final thoughts.
That day, Eddie was visited by a stranger who walked on earth serving God's people. God did have a plan for Eddie and after Eddie's visit from the stranger, he went to a neighborhood church that he'd spent years passing by on his way home. Eddie sought council with the pastor, and on that day, Eddie received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Eddie was totally dedicated to God and his new purpose in life. He went to bible school and became ordained. Today, some folks may meet Eddie on the side of the road. There Eddie will be working for Jesus following His Lords’ footsteps by helping strangers find the path that His Father God has provided them. The pathway that leads to salvation through his Lord Jesus Christ. Yes folks, Eddie is a happy man living and working for a purpose. A purpose that fed his heart love and the desire to live as a Christian soldier. His heart was delighted in the Lord, and Eddie finally did receive all the desires of his heart. See> (Psalm 37:4) 4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Let us pray
Lord we thank you for your Christian soldiers who walk among us with your Holy Spirit guiding them to lost souls. Lord we ask you to help us be more like the stranger and Eddie. In your name Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
