The murder of Mollie Tibbetts is largely being ignored by the news media. When the 18-year old from Brooklyn, Iowa first went missing on July 18, the story of search efforts for her were widely covered. But when the 24-year old Mexican alien, Christhian Rivera, was arrested two days ago, you could hear crickets chirping everywhere except on the Fox News Channel. The rest of the news media went silent because Mollie Tibbetts was murdered by an illegal immigrant. That changed everything.
We did get some mention of Mollie Tibbetts on MSNBC, when during a panel discussion, Fordham University professor Christina Greer, pictured above, said that Tibbetts was just some, ″girl in Iowa″. Implying that nobody should care about her being murdered. That the only reason Fox News was covering the arrest of Rivera was because they are racists who hate illegal immigrants. In the mind of Greer, the life of Mollie Tibbetts does not have the same value as that of a noble, illegal immigrant.
Greer later apologized for her remark on Twitter, though in a halfhearted way. She still contends that the death of Tibbetts should not be politicized in order to fund the building of The Wall or strengthening ICE and border security. In that respect, Greer still views Tibbets as just a White girl from Iowa, and probably expendable in the pursuit of social justice to make America an more diversified nation with open borders.
Christina Greer is a political science professor and well traveled in Progressive politics. She makes the rounds of all Liberal media, like MSNBC, WNYC (the NPR outlet for NY city), and even Time Magazine. Greer has written two books on ″Black ethics″ and often comments on race, immigration and gender issues. So there is no surprise that she views Mollie Tibbetts as just another White girl from Iowa. Greer probably thinks there are far too many, as plentiful as ears of corn. Losing a few here and there to murderous illegal immigrants is no big deal.
Over at CNN, the murder of Mollie Tibbetts got even less coverage. Her name was not mentioned at all during prime time Tuesday night. On Wednesday, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), a.k.a. Pocahontas, appeared on CNN and said that the murder of Mollie Tibbetts by an illegal immigrant is ″not a real problem″. Oh really? I guess Pocahontas also thinks that Tibbetts is just another White girl in Iowa and is as plentiful as ears of corn.
Polls show that immigration is the leading issue as we move towards the 2018 midterm elections. A substantial portion of the population still supports President Donald Trump in wanting The Wall built and our borders more secure. Mollie Tibbetts is just the latest victim in a growing list of legal, American citizens killed due to our porous borders. If not harmed directly by physical violence from illegal immigrants, then subject to death or injury from drug abuse. Roughly 90% of all heroin and other opioids like fentanyl enter the United States from Mexico. Nearly 200 Americans die everyday from such drugs. Add to that deaths and injuries from other causes connected to illegal immigrants, from gang violence to car accidents. Some experts say that the decline in our average lifespans in recent years is directly tied to these issues.
But, the news media refuses to cover this story. To them, Mollie Tibbetts is just a girl in Iowa. Just another sad statistic in the 200 American citizens who die daily because of the lack of border security. Not to mention the thousands of illegal immigrants, mostly children, brought into America by human traffickers, sold as slaves. Yet, the Democratic Party and their allies in the news media and Academe want ICE disbanded and no wall built. Do you really want a Blue Wave this November?
